Images from a 16 day stroll from the North Sea to the Irish Sea across the North of England.
Day 2 – Glaisdale to the Red Lion on Blakey Ridge. I was expecting the North York Moors to be grim and grey, but they were a riot of colour under a sunny sky. Wildflowers, grasses, new growth heather and the dried stalks of older plants combine in a jazz symphony for the eyes. There were also adders basking in the sun, but I haven’t included them in the painting.
The painting is made in acrylic paints on a cradled birch wood panel.
