I arrived in Australia when Victoria was in the middle of a seven year drought. Winters in Ballarat were short and dry, and coming from Scotland I thought they were pretty cushy. I chose to ignore dire warnings from long-term residents about how Ballarat winters were unbearable.
Well, the drought finally came to an end, and a whole new landscape opened up full of floods, overflowing dams, puddles and mud. Reflections and a rich new palette to explore.
Wonderful.
So out I went with camera, sketchbook and iPad back and forth along the Goldfields Track. Here are some of the results.
