And pallid evening twines its beaming hair

Looking north from Mt Buninyong. I like a volcano, even an extinct one, so I’m pretty happy with the number dotted around Ballarat. The one in the foreground is Mt. Warrenheip. And the title? Well, I have been painting for around 30 years, and I have been calling each painting something prosaic like Ballarat Lane XXVIII, which is okay until I have to sort through a list for a gallery, then I can’t for the life of me remember which one’s which. So, better titles from now on. This one is a line from PB Shelley’s A Summer Evening Churchyard, Lechlade, Gloucestershire. Ironically, this is the sort of title I might have used for one of my paintings a couple of years ago.
