I had a bit of time to make some sketches in the Cognac region. Vineyards, sunflowers and maize were the main actors in the production.
I also completed a bucket list item when I got to visit Font de Gaume and Lascaux caves. This turned out to be a good combination as the real paintings in Font de Gaume were dimly lit and hard to see but had bags of atmosphere, while the Lascaux reproductions experience was slick, informative and easy to see.
I’m sitting in North Wales right now looking out at the grey drizzly day and wondering at the colours in these sketches!

Love your sketches
